Multipurpose vehicles
Rescue and emergency vehicle
Road/rail vehicles can be configured for technical assistance, rescue and emergency tasks on railway infrastructure. Bodies and equipment are selected for the intended role, such as carrying tools and personnel, supporting rerailing and towing, or carrying firefighting equipment.
The examples also include box bodies, crew compartments and ambulance configurations. They represent different vehicle concepts, rather than a single vehicle combining every function. The equipment to be carried and the intended task should therefore be defined before selecting the base vehicle.

Planning the vehicle configuration
Define the intended vehicle role and the equipment that must be carried. Crew requirements, tools, storage space and access routes are relevant to the configuration. A vehicle for technical assistance does not automatically require the same body as an ambulance or a vehicle carrying firefighting equipment.
